Working on eating healthy has proven a little more difficult than intended, especially on a tight budget. My plan here is to keep track of my successes as well as epic fails in the kitchen. I am not really good at following directions and never remember to buy all of the ingredients that are listed in the needed ingredients section of a recipe. I like to wing it, much like every other aspect of my life. I am going to keep track of my adventures with food as well as the other craziness of life. So here it goes....
Today I tried a brussel sprout for the first time ever. I have ordered them as a side dish while eating out, but always pushed them around on the plate instead of eating one. I didn't know how to eat them: do you cut them or eat them whole? Eating them whole results in an explosion of amazing in your mouth. So thanks to Sara and Whole Foods for providing me with another green alternative to my standard broccoli. I am planning on making broccoli again tomorrow though.
Also, there is nothing good about carrot, kale, & spinach juice with a shot of wheatgrass. It tastes like dirt. And yes, I know what dirt tastes like. I loved to make mud pie and dirt soup when I was little.
